E. S. Winter

is a young writer living in Alberta, Canada, curated towards Dark Fantasy and Young Adult Fiction.

During her early life, she lived and traveled all around Canada, experiencing much of the culture and beautiful landscape that the country has to offer, meeting many different kinds of people and developing an affinity for hearing their stories.
This- along with pop culture, literature, and film- provided her with a deep love for the art of storytelling.

Although moving brought many unique experiences, it was also wrought with difficult times and struggle, which cultivated her passion for stories as a way of release and escape, and eventually pushed her into writing as a therapeutic outlet. She won several awards in elementary and high school for short stories and poetry. Her short horror story "The Dripping" is her first self-published work.

Aside from writing, she has become known in the Alberta Cosplay Community for her hand-built costumes, guest appearances, competition judging, panel and workshop presentations, and has won major awards for her craftsmanship. She spends most of her time creating various kinds of art or spending time with her family.

To My Readers:

"I have always been an artist. I don't remember a time where I wasn't drawing, writing, or creating something. Unfortunately, many roadblocks in life halted my creative outlets for a time, including chronic illness, of which I am still battling. Through those experiences, I realized how badly I wanted to make an impact; I wanted to give something more to the world, a piece of myself, but first I had to find it.

I had at that time become interested in Cosplay. So, I began building my own costumes- competing, doing workshops and panels, and it helped me harness my creative skills in a passionate and healthy outlet. But over time, I realized that as much as I enjoyed it as a hobby, it wasn't where my heart truly connected.

Writing and storytelling have been my most beloved companions throughout life. As a child I loved hearing stories in every form, and nothing thrilled me more than a good book or tv series. Through the darkest times in my life, I would write; in sadness, in struggle, with highest hopes and dreams.

Now, I want to bring my stories to life and give to others that which storytelling gave to me; Freedom. Shared Experience. A Voice.
You are never done learning in life, because that is the foundation for it. Whether you are racing through it or standing still, we experience things, and we learn from them. The same is true of writing, and as I still have much to learn,
I appreciate your patience and your company along the way.

Thank you for journeying with me.
